I never understood the Walter Chelliah vote last year. What has he ever done besides starting a forum? How has he influenced others in the industry? All he did was get everyone on his forum to vote for him..

Nice post, Shawn. It would always be nice to see more Canadians on the list, but I do agree that Canada has been represented well. But don’t forget Walter Chelliah, who was one of the top vote-getters in 2008, and is, I believe, the only Albertan to make the list to date. (Incidentally, one question that’s come up repeatedly concerns the omission of another Edmonton filmmaker, the legendary David Michael Bonner.) I’d love to see a few more representatives of the nonwedding segments of the industry. I guess we’ll know in a few weeks if that will finally happen this year.
